Match the release plan to customer demand
Duty-deferred bonded storage in China is a planning option for eligible goods held under customs supervision. Start with the intended destination: domestic sale, onward export or another supervised movement. A warehouse location alone does not determine a shipment’s tax treatment. Identify the goods, importing parties and proposed procedure before comparing costs.
Build a release forecast
Provide expected stock on arrival, monthly sales, shipment sizes and the share that may remain unsold. A plan for releasing smaller batches needs agreed allocation rules and a way to reconcile physical inventory with customs records. An uncertain sales forecast is also a reason to discuss storage duration and the handling of slow-moving stock.
Compare cash flow and total operating cost
Separate any tax timing from storage, receiving, declarations, packing and onward delivery. Smaller releases may change handling and administration costs. Ask for the assumptions behind each charge rather than treating bonded storage as a universal saving. Product eligibility and the applicable tax procedure need project-specific confirmation.
Send an assessment brief
List products and proposed HS classifications, origin, value, quantities, expected duration and destinations. Include the planned domestic importer and any current customs status. TAPO coordinates the contracted warehousing, customs and transport scope; space and the release procedure are confirmed before cargo is sent.
