Start with the route to the consumer
Cross-border ecommerce logistics in China needs a clear route from the overseas brand to the Chinese consumer. Identify the platform, retail-import model and planned source of inventory. Product eligibility and the applicable procedure are reviewed before stock is moved. General-trade wholesale and cross-border retail imports require distinct assessments.
Make the catalogue and order data consistent
Provide SKU identifiers, product descriptions, prices, units and carton breakdowns. Identify the systems sending transaction, payment and logistics information. Test how order changes, cancellations and repeated messages are handled. A parcel should be traceable to the order and the stock records used for its dispatch.
Define the warehouse workflow
Specify receiving checks, stock location rules, picking units, packaging and parcel label formats. For campaigns, provide an hourly order profile as well as a daily forecast. Agree the exception route for damaged stock, incomplete data and customs holds. Warehouse acceptance does not establish platform or product eligibility.
Plan returns separately
Explain whether a return is still overseas, in a supervised facility or already delivered to a consumer. The route and product condition affect what can happen next. Do not assume every return can be placed back into bonded inventory. Include returns, stock reconciliation and disposal questions in the initial assessment.
