Define the wine and the intended sales route
How to import wine into China begins with the exact product, producer, origin and intended channel. Supply product composition and alcohol information where relevant. Separate wholesale import, consumer retail-import plans and exhibition samples so each proposed procedure can be reviewed on its own facts.
Prepare records that can be reconciled
Provide bottle sizes, bottles per carton, carton counts, batch or vintage references and draft invoice data. Product names and units should be consistent across the packing list, labels and inventory records. Clarify how mixed cartons or promotional sets will be represented.
Check product requirements before loading
Confirm applicable producer and product requirements for the selected route with the responsible parties. Overseas food producer registration rules have changed; use the current official process rather than an old checklist. Product eligibility is separate from warehouse availability.
Preserve the manufacturer’s handling specification
Send the required storage and transport conditions and packaging instructions. The published frozen facilities are not evidence of a wine-compatible temperature programme. Confirm suitable conditions at the proposed location before shipment. TAPO can assess receiving, stock handling and contracted coordination once these requirements are known.
