What a bonded warehouse does
A bonded warehouse in China holds eligible goods under a customs-supervised procedure. The goods’ status and permitted movements are central to the operating plan. The phrase bonded storage describes a regulatory arrangement; it does not establish a blanket tax exemption or product approval.
Follow the inventory movement
A practical workflow connects arrival records, receiving checks, stored quantities and the proposed next movement. Identify units, batch references and discrepancies before inventory becomes available for allocation. Physical stock and the records used for customs supervision need to remain reconcilable.
Distinguish the destination of the goods
A domestic import release, onward export and movement to another supervised facility require their own assessment. The proposed destination affects documents, responsible parties and charges. Decide the likely routes while planning stock rather than after goods have already arrived.
Understand the facility distinction
Hongqiao/Minhang is in a Type B bonded logistics centre; Jiading is in a comprehensive bonded zone. These facility descriptions should not be treated as interchangeable legal arrangements. TAPO assesses the project at the selected location and coordinates only the agreed contracted scope.
